The Builders Group was founded to provide a long-term, stable workers’ compensation insurance program for the construction industry of Minnesota at the lowest possible net cost to each member.

In order to meet those needs 52 members came together along with 4 sponsoring associations to form The Builders Group (TBG), a self-insured workers' compensation insurance program designed for the construction industry in Minnesota.

This workers’ compensation program is geared specifically for all residential and commercial construction related businesses in Minnesota. This includes builders, remodelers, subcontractors, suppliers, and other businesses affiliated with the construction industry. 

As the largest self-insured workers’ compensation fund in the state, with over 1000 members and more than $39 million in annual premiums, TBG continues to meet the needs of the construction industry by focusing on strength, stability, and service to our members – keeping Minnesota money in Minnesota!

General Liability Insurance: As rates increase and coverage shrinks, it becomes more difficult to find affordable insurance products that actually offer decent coverage. Minnesota law has also recently been amended to mandate completed operations coverage within your general liability policy. As a member of the Builders Association of Minnesota (BAM), you have access to the Quality Program from Continental Western Group. CWG offers a quality insurance product at a fair price.
