This national event is to recognize the importance of the roles women play in the contruction industry.
The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) was founded in 1953 by 16 women working in the construction industry to create a support network for women working in a male-dominated field. NAWIC now has 116 chapters in the US and several international affiliates.
Locally, the week's activities include:
Monday - Wear Red Day - to show your support for women in the contruction industry
Tuesday - Building Tours - Member only or Invite: Rockridge High School or Lincoln Park Flats
Wednesday - 12:00-1:00 Owning your Desitiny: Mapping your Dreams and Making them Come True. Learn how a former Krause-Anderson employee changed her destiny and career by founding Xena Workwear. This is a virtual event and you can register on nawic392.org
4:30-7:30 Hard Hat Happy Hour - Bent Paddle Brewery in Duluth or the Sawmill in Virginia
Thursday - 12:00-1:00 OSHA 30 - Women in Safety and Field. Learn to emphasize the value of safety and health to workers. This is a virtual event and you can register on nawic392.org
